Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the need for modern management education to form not only professional skills, but also internal psychological resources that ensure the effectiveness of managerial activities. The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate the role of leadership potential as a key factor in the professional competence of future managers and to determine the conditions for its purposeful development in the educational process. The research methodology combines a theoretical and comparative analysis of scientific sources, a structural and component approach to determining the content of leadership potential, as well as methods of systematization, generalization and content analysis of data on typical barriers and pedagogical conditions for its formation. In the course of the work, it was established that leadership potential is not a separate feature, but constitutes a holistic system of personal resources that determine the student's readiness for managerial activities. It was found that the components of potential – cognitive, motivational, communicative and emotional-volitional – are in direct functional connection with basic managerial competencies. A list of internal and external barriers that complicate the formation of leadership qualities is outlined, in particular, insufficient self-confidence, authoritarian interaction styles of teachers and limited practical learning formats.

The effectiveness of pedagogical and psychological-organizational conditions that contribute to the transition of potential from the stage of latent readiness to active behavioral implementation is proven. In the process of the research, unique conclusions were obtained regarding optimal educational strategies capable of supporting the development of students' managerial subjectivity. The practical significance of the results lies in the fact that they can be used to modernize the content of management educational programs, develop training modules, improve the mentoring system and implement innovative forms of training that will contribute to the targeted development of the leadership potential of future managers.
