PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF FORMING SOCIAL DEMANDS AMONG RURAL YOUTH

Abstract

The article explores the psychological characteristics underlying the formation of social demands among rural youth. It analyzes the factors shaping the needs, expectations, and life orientations of young people living in rural areas. Special attention is given to the influence of the social environment, the accessibility of educational, cultural, and professional resources, as well as socio-economic conditions that define the development of youth aspirations. The study highlights the role of family upbringing, local communities, traditional values, and socialization institutions in shaping these demands.

The importance of psychological support, the development of self-determination competencies, and the creation of opportunities for realizing the potential of rural youth is emphasized. The article also proposes possible strategies for optimizing social policy to enhance social activity, adaptability, and independence among rural young people.

Psychological factors influencing the formation of social demands, along with features of self-determination, identity, and cognitive development, are examined. The role of emotional stability, frustration tolerance, and social integration in adapting rural youth to contemporary challenges is identified. The scientific novelty of the study lies in its systematic approach to analyzing the socio-psychological situation of rural youth within a transformational society.

Findings indicate that young people aspire to active participation in community life; however, institutional barriers often suppress initiative, leading to frustration or migration. Therefore, creating mechanisms for youth involvement in decision-making, supporting local initiatives, and developing youth councils and platforms for civic dialogue are of particular importance.

The psychological resources of rural youth combine pragmatism and idealism, adaptability, reliance on personal values, and readiness for local change. These qualities can serve as a foundation for the restoration and development of rural communities in the post-war period.
