CLIP THINKING AND METACOGNITIVE CONTROL AS COMPLEMENTARY RESOURCES FOR ENHANCING STUDENTS’ LEARNING EFFECTIVENESS IN CONTEMPORARY EDUCATIONAL CONDITIONS: PROGRAM APPROBATION

The article analyzes the relationship between clip thinking and metacognitive control as complementary resources for enhancing students’ learning effectiveness in contemporary educational environments. The analysis highlights that the ability to rapidly process fragmented information may serve as a basis for developing conscious strategies of planning, monitoring, and evaluating one’s learning activity. In this context, blended learning creates conditions in which the integration of these mechanisms becomes particularly meaningful for sustaining students’ academic functioning under increased cognitive and emotional demands. The post-war educational environment requires learners to navigate heterogeneous information flows, balance digital and offline formats, and independently regulate their learning trajectories, which makes the combination of clip-like processing and metacognitive regulation especially relevant.
The article presents the results of adaptation and pilot implementation of a metacognitive control development program designed to promote the constructive use of clip-like information processing and to enhance students’ capacity for flexible selection of learning strategies. The program has a universal, cross-disciplinary character and can be applied in the training of students from both humanities and technical fields, as it focuses on the formation of general learning, regulatory, and metacognitive skills relevant to diverse educational trajectories. At the current stage, the program is presented as a set of structured methodological recommendations, with the potential to be implemented as an elective academic course in higher education institutions.
Empirical findings demonstrate improvements in learners’ self-regulation, resilience to information overload, and ability to integrate fragmented learning materials, confirming the effectiveness and practical significance of the program for supporting young people’s educational readaptation within contemporary higher education.people’s educational readaptation within contemporary higher education.
