The article reflects the specifics and stages of making a moral choice by a person of youth. The scientific works of foreign and domestic scientists who researched the development of the moral consciousness of the individual, the formation of morality as a personal formation, the motivation of the choice and the influence of moral values on it were analyzed. Psychological determinants are defined as value formations of an individual that actualize his moral choice. Moral values causally determine the implementation of each stage of choice. In the process of "step-by-step ascent", the adolescent personality goes through the stage of awareness of the situation of moral choice, the analysis of moral values, the emergence of a struggle of motives, which prompts the decision-making and implementation of a moral choice, which is reproduced thanks to moral self-regulation of activity. It is emphasized that youth is sensitive for mastering the stages of moral choice under the influence of psychological determinants corresponding to each of them. In the course of the theoretical analysis, a model of the stages of making a moral choice of an individual of juvenile age was built. A substantiated paradigm of the process of step-by-step implementation of moral choice by a person of youth age. The outlined stages will allow a more in-depth study of the specifics of the moral choice of young people.
