The war, crisis processes in the social and political life of Ukraine and the economy also had a negative impact on the increase in the number of suicides. The increase in cases of suicidal behavior among young people is especially alarming. The results of the study of factors that contribute to the formation of suicidal ideation in adolescence are given in the article. Revealed tier dynamics of suicidality in younger and older teens.
In adolescence, suicidal tendencies are usually preceded by depression, the signs of which in individuals of this age are: decreased performance, conflict, vulnerability, and poor health. Adults perceive these symptoms mainly as a result of debauchery and laziness and use various means of influence, which make young people feel even worse and the depressive state deepens. Painful feelings prevent a teenager from contacting peers, cause them to drop out of school. The conflicts that arise are perceived as hopeless, leading to suicidal intentions.
Based on scientific-historical and modern approaches to the problem, the most common motives for suicidal tendencies among teenagers were identified: unhappy love; disrespect from others; family conflicts; fear of criminal liability or punishment; academic failures.
Processing the results of the study using the Student's t-test confirmed the statistical significance of the trend towards a decrease in the number of respondents with the absence of suicidal manifestations from younger to older adolescence (t = 2,40, p ≤ 0,05), which indicates the presence of negative growth dynamics intensity of tendency to suicide in teenagers. Among the suicidal factors diagnosed by us, relations with others, the problem of losing the meaning of life, as well as money and problems with them occupy a prominent place in terms of the degree of manifestation in both younger and older teenagers. The identified negative trend requires the development of an effective system of preventive and corrective work with potential teenage suicide victims.
