The paper analyses the meaning of the concept of "stress resistance" in the context of future psychologists’ training for work with the adolescents prone to deviant behaviour. On the basis of the analysis of theoretical sources, it is found that the process of applicants’ training in higher education institutions is accompanied by stressful situations, which probably affect the quality of future psychologists’ training for professional activities. It is established that stress resistance plays an important role in personal self-regulation, forms an adequate emotional response and promotes constructive behaviour in stressful situations.
It is found that due to lack of experience, interaction with adolescents prone to deviant behaviour is stressful and causes emotional tension for most future psychologists. According to the results of stress diagnosis of future psychologists, fourth-year students have a higher level of stress resistance, compared to second-year students. It is stated that fourth-year students show self-control and can take responsibility when choosing strategies for behaviour in stressful situations. Second-year students, in contrast, are focused on social support, which is due to the lack of readiness to work with adolescents prone to deviant behaviour. In the paper, the conditions for increasing stress resistance and readiness to work with adolescents prone to deviant behaviour are considered to be development of personal resources during the conduct of psychological trainings and methods of simulation modelling in the educational environment, the gradual enrichment of training content based on the integration of psychological and pedagogical potential of educational disciplines and special courses.
Key words: stress resistance, stressful situations, future psychologists, adolescents, deviant behaviour.
