The article is devoted to the problem of trust and empathy in the context of interpersonal relationships in late adolescence, the period of transition to adulthood, which requires clearly defined life goals, responsible choices and actions from an individual. Based on the theoretical analysis of psychological features of interpersonal interaction of adolescents, it is proved that the level of trust and empathy of the individual are interdependent: the strength of empathy in the emotional sphere of personality affects the level of trust among young boys in communication. It is noted that due to the features of empathy and trusting communication, young boys can evaluate the people around them, establish a certain value of the relationship that they acquire over a period of time. It is discussed that the sensitivity of early adolescence to the establishment and development of interpersonal relationships is due to the intensification of programs to find ways of personal self-realization, restructuring the system of relationships with others and accompanied by displaying such psychological personality traits as tolerance and aggression, fear and desire to trust, the need to have relationships with others and the need for independence. Empathy is noted as the ability to understand and penetrate the world of another person, which is a complex integral phenomenon that includes a set of interrelated elements of cognitive, behavioral and emotional nature, necessary to establish an appropriate level of trust in interpersonal relationships. The results of empirical research are analyzed, which determine the degree of empathy and trust in people, indicate the dependence of the individual to decide whether or not to trust the opinion of others and their own ability to sympathize them and empathize with them. The peculiarity, closeness and direction of mutual influence of levels of trust and levels of empathy are described.
